In practice for over a decade, Carolina, a Registered Architect and LEED Accredited Professional, has spent her career building experience through various design firms and projects. She began her professional career while attending the University of Houston, Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture. In 2003, Carolina worked in Barcelona, Spain for the office of Enric Miralles + Benedetta Tagliabue (EMBT). While in Spain, she gained a passion for graphics and presentations and now greatly enjoys the early phases of design in projects. For seven years, Carolina was a crucial member for the local architecture firm Boultinghouse Simpson Gates Architects. At BSG, Carolina collaborated on different building types of different scales and gained experience as a project manager working on all phases of architecture.

Today, Carolina is co-founder and COO at ORANGE MADE, an architecture studio that explores the process and impact of design and construction of various building types, master planning and adaptive re-use of existing structures. Carolina believes that our clients’ ideas help motivate our solutions.

Carolina was born in Cordoba, Argentina, grew up in Houston, Texas and has now resided in McAllen for over a decade. She enjoys time with her family and looks forward to making an impact in the Rio Grande Valley community through design.

She serves as an advisory board member for the Architecture Program at Texas Southmost College and the South Texas College - Architectural & Engineering Design Technology Program. In the past she has served on the Executive Board of the Rio Grande Valley American Institute of Architects Chapter as Secretary/Treasurer + Vice President and on the City of McAllen’s Building Board of Adjustments and Appeals.

A native of the Rio Grande Valley, Erick graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston in 2003. Upon his graduation, Erick was awarded the Hines Internship and worked alongside internationally recognized architect Oscar Tusquests Blanca in Barcelona, Spain.

After the internship in Spain, Erick returned to the Rio Grande Valley. He practiced architecture alongside Ruben Escobar, AIA, at Diseño Inc., where he collaborated on residential and commercial projects throughout Texas and Mexico.

In 2009, Erick joined the faculty at the architecture program at The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College (now only known as Texas Southmost College). In conjunction with his teaching duties, he assisted in developing the architecture program where he integrated service-learning into his pedagogy.

In 2012, Erick returned to the University of Houston to complete a Master of Science in Architecture. During that experience he realized the importance of practice and made the decision, together with his partner and wife, Carolina Civarolo, AIA to form ORANGE MADE architecture.

He has served as an advisory board member for the Architecture Program at Texas Southmost College, South Texas College, a community board member for the Rio Grande Valley Multibank Corporation, and an advisory board member for City of McAllen Community Development Council and Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals. He recently served as part of the city’s “Envision McAllen” Steering Committee. Erick is also an active member of the Lower Rio Grande Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

His career began as a draftsman in the late 1980s and he has since held project management roles at well-known architectural firms including ROFA Architects, Inc., DISEÑO, INC., and Morales-Best Hinojosa Architects, Inc.

Eliazar recently joined the Orange Made team as the Production Team Leader to bring innovation to production operations and provide mentorship to the Studio Team.

Pedro Correa has over eight years of experience in architectural design, construction documentation, and estimation. He has enhanced his skills in design development, construction practices, and principles for all phases of projects, including planning, estimating, design, and inspection. He is passionate about design and construction and constantly strives to provide excellent service for clients through careful attention to details for commercial and residential structures.

As a Design Associate at Orange Made, Pedro is responsible for developing construction packets in compliance with building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances. He also prepares contract documents with building contractors and conducts periodic on-site observations of construction projects.

Luis joined ORANGE MADE in 2023 as a design project manager. He has design skills and experience in community engagement. Luis enjoys the community aspect of each project he works on and is passionate about the historic preservation of buildings. His experience with building community workshops is invaluable to the team. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the world of non-profit work.

As a native of Brownsville, Luis has personally experienced the multifaceted issues that the community faces. He gained experience in building code analysis through an internship with the City of Lubbock Building Inspections Department. Luis works to solve environmental and social issues in the community through the implementation of new ideas and thoughtful design. He aspires to make an impact and create positive change in the RGV.

Luis serves the community on different levels. He is currently the chair of the Texas Southmost College Architecture Program Advisory Board and the Historic Preservation Design and Review Board for the City of Brownsville. He also serves on the Texas Architect Magazine Publications Committee.

Sergio Salazar is a skilled professional in building construction, budgeting, design, and creativity. He is a dedicated worker who enjoys focusing on the technical details of every project. Sergio's experience in building construction is invaluable to the Orange Made team, as he brings much-needed expertise in technical details, construction processes and building inspection.

Sergio gained his experience in building inspection through an internship at the City of Lubbock Building Inspections Department. After completing his undergraduate degree in architecture from Texas Tech University, he returned to his hometown and joined a local construction company as a project manager and estimator, where he further developed his experience in construction processes and inspection.

As a member of the Orange Made team, Sergio can leverage his creative designing skills with his technical and construction knowledge to develop cutting-edge design concepts and structural solutions for innovative building types.

Aleena Joseph is skillful in using a variety of architecture and graphic design tools with the ability to produce detailed drawings that bring architectural visions to life. Aleena is driven by passion for design and innovation. Her problem-solving abilities are at the core of her work. She thrives in collaborative teamwork settings. Aleena holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree and has experience in graphic design, architecture design and detail drawings.

Antonio is a native of the Rio Grande Valley, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Texas at San Antonio, School of Architecture.

After graduating, he returned to the valley and worked for several years at OrigoWorks, a design-build architecture firm based in Brownsville, Texas. During this time, Antonio honed his skills in developing construction documents, coordinating drawings between consultants, and designing and drawing construction details. He also gained experience in creating conceptual renders and graphic presentations. In 2024, Antonio joined the ORANGE MADE team as a design associate. In this role, he is involved in all phases of project design, construction documentation, and consultant coordination. His expertise lies in housing, multi-use, remodeling, and commercial-type projects.
